5 Minutes with Hailey Baldwin

Earlier this month we posted an article about our experience at the Influencer Day in Paris earlier this year. Besides interviewing Vanessa Bruno, we also caught up with Hailey Baldwin, one of the spokespersons of L’Oréal Professionnel and part of the world’s most famous girl squad. We have had the pleasure to chat with the blonde beauty about her beauty rituals and get personal advice, which you can read in the interview below:

What are your beauty routines and which products do you use?

Hailey Baldwin: I use a lot of La Mer products because I think they are softer on the skin and do not have much of a fragrance. I always wash my face before I go to bed at night. I never travel with make-up on, or at least I try not to, unless I am rushing to the airport straight from a job. But I keep make-up swipes with me as often as I can.

What is the secret of always looking fresh even when jet-lagged?

Hailey Baldwin: I take my lotion on the plane with me, and I use eye pads to put under before I land. And things like that.

What do you do on a bad hair day?

Hailey Baldwin: Put it in a bun.

What hair color would you like to have if you were not blonde?

Hailey Baldwin: My natural color is dirty blonde. No, I’ve had dark brown, I have had brown. If I could, I would wear a color like pink.

You were raised in a family of actors. What was it like to be brought up within the likes of a Hollywood circle?

Hailey Baldwin: I was kept very much outside of that to be honest, cause I didn’t grow up in L.A. I grew up in a small town outside of New York. So, it felt very normal to me, I didn’t feel like I was growing up around so much fame. It was just my family and me. I was just used to the fame of my family (not like the whole.)? Now, it is different. But I live in New York, and I enjoy living there and kind of being away from it. My family is in New York.

Was it your own choice to become a model?

Hailey Baldwin: It was, but I was a ballet dancer first. Maybe I was going to be that. Still, I have always enjoyed modeling so much. I love doing this. I love being able to travel so much and at such a young age. It is really fun!

Which advice did your parents give you when you took your first steps in the fashion industry?

Hailey Baldwin: My dad basically always keeps telling me: “Just be Hailey. That’s why people will gravitate towards you! Because you are yourself and have what drives to you.’ And that has proven to be very true. The more I let my personality show, the more confident I become and relate to people better. And, of course, I wouldn’t deal with fame like this if it weren’t for the support of my family.

Baldwin, the 20-year-model who is the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and niece to Alec, will act as muse for the spring and fall It Looks color collections, which are based on seasonal color trends.
