Melrose

by Jen

In the heart of Grinzing, which is in the 19th district of Vienna, a very fascinating Californian  restaurant that totally overwhelmed me by its design recently opened. Its name is ‘Melrose‘. I have already spent couple of evenings there with Des, our mum, some friends and so decided to dedicate it at least a short article.

Usually, in that area you can find a lot of Austrian wine taverns, hence it was very surprising for me to find such a stylish place in this neighbourhood.

Melrose is inspired by the cuisine of an Austrian born Wolfgang Puck, who is one of the most famous chefs in the world (including cooking for the Academy Awards) offering its guests a big variety of food: Josper Grill, Sea Food, Burgers and Vegetarian Food. On the first floor you can find another dining area, including a private room for business lunch/dinner, and downstairs is a wine lounge.

The highlights for me were the cozy bar and lounge area, decorated with photos of renowned Hollywood filmstars and singers, offering the feeling of being one step closer to California. Check it out! 🙂
