This year’s H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection is all about style, beauty and the sensual world. Besides the look, the designer team also focused on how the items feel and sound.
The premium collection made for special events includes a new sustainable material called BIONIC®, which in fact is a recycled polyester made from plastic shoreline waste. The Swedish retailer is one of the biggest users of recycled polyester around the globe and also aims to use 100% organic cotton by 2020. H&M’s commitment to sustainability has been ongoing for a long time and I am sure that they will shape the industry towards a more environmentally friendly fashion future. I think it’s very important as H&M is one of the biggest fashion companies in the world and therefore they have the power and responsibility to influence the industry and consumers in following their examples.
Some of our favourite pieces are the pink sequined dress with a ribbon – tie neck (pailettes made of 70% recycled plastics), the floral dress with ruffle details, the printed fluted hem skirt combined with a rib-knit top, the yellow ruffle top made of Tencel® (a soft and skin-friendly fabric, which is sourced from fast-growing tress without the usage of pesticides) combined with a Jaquard-weave skirt.
The contemporary collection will be available in 160 selected stores worldwide and online from April 20 2017.
