Exactly one week ago, Jen and I were invited by Swarovski to attend one of the most glamorous events in Austria, the Vienna Opera Ball held at Vienna’s magnificent State Opera House. This mega event is fully given over to waltzing bliss, attracting people from all over the world. In fact, it was our first time to attend “the ball of all balls”. I remember the times when I used to watch the happening live on TV for many years. That time I was always dreaming about going to the Opera Ball one day and being dressed like a princess. And finally my dream came true. Especially as a Viennese, it is a must to see this spectacle, at least once in your life…
Jen and I were extremely happy and excited to be part of this evening since we are huge fans of Swarovski, a fabulous brand that retails incredible jewelry pieces from designers all over the world, with designs focusing principally on crystals of course. We simply love statement jewelry, so it was the perfect occasion for us.
Our day started early with all preparations for hair and make-up at the Guesthouse, which was done by the talented team of Mad Lions. After that, we enjoyed taking some pictures, especially because we wanted to do something special. Pat used a blurred effect, perfect with the glooming background at the hotel.
Sacher Hotel & the Opera Ball
Before attending the Opera Ball, we were invited for a special gala dinner at the famous Sacher Hotel. We had a blast while drinking wine, eating delicacies and having wonderful and deep conversations. It was beautiful sharing the same feelings and opinions with the people at the table.
At the Opera Ball, we discovered some magical moments and enjoyed the awesome ballet performances and opera stages by tenor Pavol Breslik and soprano singer Valentina Nafornitaat. Not to mentioned witnessed 150 young couples dancing the first polonaise at the elegant ballroom.
We strolled through the opera house, took a stop at one of the many bars (such as the “Crystal Bar”) and the casino and enjoyed the varied music programs. One of the best parts was all the nice people we have met during this evening.
For this occasion, we wore long black lace dresses and bags by Dolce & Gabbana and jewels by Swarovski. It simply felt like the perfect look, especially because all the accessories elevated our whole appearance.
I feel so honored and happy to have been part of such an important and unforgettable evening. Thank you Swarovski for a night full of beautiful memories. Hope you guys will enjoy the pictures!
Lots of love,
Des
