The Bank Brasserie & Bar

by Des

One of our most favorite things to do in our free time when in Vienna, is definitely meeting our friends and enjoying our time in a relaxed and charming atmosphere.

Naturally, Jen and I always like to discover new hot spots, and while we were out and scouting we spotted the new Bank Brasserie & Bar at the Park Hyatt which used to be a bank building before. Even by simply entering the place, you get the amazing feeling of travelling somewhere back to the past. What really fascinates me is the whole concept of the Bank Bar, which draws a thematic bow around two components; the historical part being the optical association of the former cashier hall and its recent reviving through materials like wood, leather, metal and copper.

As the Park Hyatt Vienna is situated in the Golden District, right next to all the amazing luxury shops, I believe it probably has the most amazing location possible in Vienna. A city like Vienna, which has developed so quickly over the last couple of years, definitely needs a cosmopolite place like this. A place that not only makes one curious with its exterior and interior but also the gourmet offer. Which is also very important to us!

Basically, Jen and I are quite spoiled considering food, since we grew up in the restaurant business. You can only imagine how much we love and appreciate a good and healthy meal. I try to pay attention to what I eat as I am not only looking for the best in terms of quality, service and good selection but also most of all I seek for places that offer well-nourished meals.

And even more so, we were excited to taste one of the many European specialities like beef tatar with the tasty, freshly baked bread from my favorite bakery Joseph Brot, lobsters crudo with chilli, lemon and avocado. So yummy! All prepared at the open show kitchen.

Last but not least, we were curious to taste “the Bittersweet Victory” (a self creation of Stefan Bauer, the barkeeper of the year by Rolling Pin). Which is one of many delicious cocktail creations at the Bank Bar, which is the place to go for a drink during day and night.

That day, we chose a very chic look, appropriate to the venue, and wore dresses by Anelia Peschev. I really adore her sophisticated and elegant style. You guys need to check her out.

Hope you guys love the pictures and finally enjoy summer as much as we do!

Lots of love from Capri
