It’s that time of the year again. H&M’s much anticipated Conscious Exclusive Collection S/S 2016 hits 180 stores worldwide today.
The H&M design team collaborated with Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Palais du Louvre) in exploring the museum’s archives and the work of several painters, e.g. Gustave Moreau, Caravaggio, Sandro Botticelli, in order to create a timeless, glamorous and modern collection.
The 35 pieces collection, which consists of clothing styles dating back 300 years, is made of sustainable and delicate materials: recycled polyester made from plastic bottles, recycled denim/linen, hemp, organic silk/cotton, etc.
Also, the opening of the H&M sponsored exhibition “Fashion Forward – Three Centuries of Fashion“ will be celebrated in Paris today.
In the recent years H&M has constantly been striving to improve its ecofriendly production by ensuring optimal working conditions for its suppliers, employees, hosting the Global Change Award or collecting clothes to be recycled.
Anna Gedda, H&M’s head of sustainability said: “We need to not only make fashion sustainable, but to make sustainability fashionable”. Also for this special collection H&M has introduced its very first affordable wedding dresses, that we both decided to wear for the following shooting. Des is wearing a long, white gown made of organic lace/cotton, whereas I am wearing a silk, Boho-inspired dress with gold applique.
Special thanks to Palais Liechtenstein!
