When asked, which job she had if she were not a designer, Georgine Ratelband proofed to surprise as much as her designs. “A Pilot”, she told Fashiontimes in 2014. Luckily, for the world of luxury fashion, she chose instead to start her own label, Georgine Studio. From her first show in 2014 on, she gained the interest and support of the american fashion industry and is already reaching out internationally.

About Georgine Studio

Georgine Ratelband seems to have been doing everything right from the beginning. Graduating from Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan in 2011, she sold her graduation collection right away. The prestigious Concept Store SIEN in Antwerp purchased her entire collection right away.

Back in New York, Ratelband found together with her partner Chris Roshia her own label, Georgine Studio. From the beginning on they focused on highest quality and materials. This, they combined with a mixture of sophistication and playfulness when it came to the esthetics. The inspiration for their designs can come from anywhere. The much celebrated ready-to-wear Spring 2017 was inspired by Georgines own mother’s closet. Women Wear Daily called it “a play on downtown-meets-uptown“.

The label’s motto is, that a garment should look as beautiful from the inside as it does from the outside. By twisting Coco Chanel’s famous words, Georgine Studio proofs it’s focus on highest quality and their love for esthetics and fashion.
