Backstage Moments with Elie Saab Des & Jen

Hey guys!

I wanted to share with you my exclusive backstage moment (together with MAC Cosmetics) at Elie Saab during Haute Couture week in Paris.

It’s always very special being in the backstage area, just moments before the models hit the catwalk.

An incredible fairytale, goddess woman

The Lebanese designer took his inspiration for the Autumn/Winter 2017/18 Haute Couture collection from the hit series Game of Thrones. Theme of the collection was “A tale of fallen kings”. Elie Saab wanted to represent the power of women.

Models transformed into warrior queens who fiercely wore elegant feminine silhouettes ranging from embroidered/tulle/lace gowns, capes and free flowing skirts. One of my favorite moments was when Elie Saab put the final touches on the models before the show started.

Color palette of the collection: pearl white, dusty blue, pastel pink & intense blue, vivd red, forest green and black.

Materials: velvet, tulle, lace, fur, chiffon, organza, silk, satin, gold thread

Hair & Make-up

Make-up artist Tom Pecheux and hairstylist Orlando Pita created together a glowy catwalk look.

Pecheux used warm gold tones for the eyes with a touch of black mascara and pencil, rose gold on cheekbones and shimmery bronze powder on the cheeks (he used one of his favorite products – MAC Gold Deposit Mineralized Skinfinish). A rose colored eye gloss with a bit of glitter (MAC Studio Eye Gloss) was applied on the lips.

Pita created loose waves and tiny braids that made the models look very romantic and feminine (Orlando Pita Body Breakthrough Volume Boosting Hairspray). He finished the look with gilded crowns, which symbolized a warrior headpiece and added toughness to the look.

I really love this look as it’s ideal for a summer party or music festival.
